I have been working on a painting book for North Light Publishing. It is going very well and should be in book stores by mid summer 2008.

The winter has been very productive. I enjoy working in the studio with the opportunity to work on large canvases done with the help of plein air works. This is very rewarding.

Plein Air Texas 2008

This years plein air painting event will extend to Fredericksburg and San Antonio Texas. In addition to the many locations that individuals will paint starting January 1, 2008 the Plein Air Texas artists will paint on location in Fredericksburg April 11,12 and 13, then move to San Antonio April 14,15 and 16. Following these locations participants will then converge on Southwest Gallery in Dallas to drop off paintings for the Gallery exhibition and sale.

On Saturday we will again hold a quick draw painting event at the Dallas Heritage Village in Old City Park. Painted from 10 - noon and then hung the artwork in the pavilion until 3 pm when it will be relocated to Southwest Gallery.

The opening reception for the main show will be held at Southwest Gallery from 3 - 7 pm. It's should be a great show this year with the more varied locations. If your in the Dallas area I suggest you stop in the Gallery and see for yourself.

Southwest Gallery is a gracious host and a great location for the exhibition and sale. Sales in 2007 were very strong and we, at the OPS, are very pleased that they are hosting this event again in 2008.

In 2007 the Quick Draw Artist Choice went to Chuck Mardosz and People Choice award went to Ann Templeton.

In the main 2007 show at Southwest Gallery the Artists Choice award went to a really great artist, ME! The Peoples Choice award went to Rusty Jones.
